Sustainable Construction Using Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (Aircrete) Blocks_Crimson Publishers

Sustainable Construction Using Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (Aircrete)Blocks by Ash Ahmed in Research & Development in Material Science Low Density Aircrete (Density≤450kg/m 3 , compressive strength≤3N/mm 2 ) has been used extensively for the construction of dwellings in many parts of Europe. In the UK, however, lack of availability has restricted the use of Low Density Aircrete. Developments in Eurocode 6 require adjustment to the UK design procedures, allowing greater utilization of Low Density High Performance Aircrete. The material has considerable advantages, which include its economical, mechanical and physical properties. It is usually manufactured using pulverized fuel ash, which is an industrial by-product. The potential for using Low Density Aircrete for the UK and indeed global construction industry is therefore highly promising with substantial economic and environmental benefits. Furthermore, calculations show the thermal insulating (shielding for hot climates) ...

Thermal Analysis of Oil Pipeline Coatings-Crimson Publishers

Image
Thermal Analysis of Oil Pipeline Coatings by Mumtaz Mirza M in Research & Development in Material Science The research paper focuses on oil pipe lines used in desert region of Oman that is exposed to very high ambient temperature affects the coating properties resulted in brittleness in coatings. The impact of high ambient temperature is analyzed through heat transfer rate and thermal stress. Two coatings are considered, commercially available fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) coating and experimentally developed electroless nickel phosphorous (EN-P) composite alloy coating. Simulation is done under three ambient conditions, morning at 308K, mid-day at 328K and evening when temperature was around 313K along with crude oil temperature of 343K. Thermal analysis demonstrates that at high ambient temperature EN-P composite alloy coating has low heat transfer rate as compared to FBE coating and its thermal efficiency was around 96% against uncoated pipe and around 69.4% less as compare...

Synthesis, Characterization and Flocculation Characteristics of Polysaccharide Graft Copolymers-Crimson Publishers

Image
Synthesis, Characterization and Flocculation Characteristics of Polysaccharide Graft Copolymers by Karmakar GP in Research & Development in Material Science The waste water and industrial effluent treatment may be treated either with inorganic or organic coagulants and flocculants. Efficient flocculants can reduce the total amount of disposed effluent into the atmosphere. Broadly, for coagulation and flocculation, although the basic function remains the same, subtle distinction is made between these two terms. The coagulation means the destabilization of a stabilized system (eg., colloidal system) but flocculation means the floc formation of the destabilized colloidal system, where the addition of flocculent to the destabilized colloidal system results in flocculation. The flocculants may be either inorganic or organic type. Among the inorganic flocculants, the multivalent metallic compounds like aluminum and iron salts are generally used. The organic polymer ic flocculants...

Analysis of the Internet Information Regarding Reverse total Shoulder Arthroplasty-Crimson Publishers

Temperature Assessment and Process Optimization ofAlkali Catalyzed Transesterification of Waste Cooking Oil Using Microwave FlowSystem by Hamed Nayebzadeh in Research & Development in Material Science Background: Despite its success, reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) is still a novel procedure, with no long term outcome studies and a significant complication rate. Patients considering RSA should be fully informed about the risks, benefits, and indications for the procedure. Studies have shown that patients use the internet to find medical information and make healthcare decision, sometimes without consulting their provider Online orthopedic information has been found to be of poor quality in the past. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the online information about RSA and evaluate its quality. Methods: The authors searched the term "reverse total shoulder replacement” in Google, Yahoo!, and Bing. Sites linking to academic journa...

Landfill Gas to Power-Crimson Publishers

Image
Landfill Gas to Power by Nirmalendu Bandyopadhyay in Research & Development in Material Science Landfill Gas (LFG) which results from decomposition and bacterial actions of garbage dumps, contain large volume of methane gas in addition to carbon dioxide, moisture, oxides of nitrogen and sulphur. These gases are continuously released into the atmosphere and go up to form Green House Gases (GHG), one notorious contributor to Global Warming. Therefore, there are concerted efforts to use this gas appropriately to prevent its release into the atmosphere. But the main problem is the inadequate quantity of gas available at any particular time for efficient use in any industry. When the landfill dump is large, the volume of gas released is also comparatively; large and can be used in power generation or in industrial furnaces as fuel. https://crimsonpublishers.com/rdms/fulltext/RDMS.000514.php For more Open access journals in  Crimson Publishers  please click ...

The Role of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles in Sesamum Indicum Growth and Yield-Crimson Publishers

Image
The Role of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles in Sesamum Indicum Growth and Yield  by Narendhran S in  Research & Development in Material Science As of late fast progressed in comprehension synthesis and engineering nanoparticles without a doubt will proceed with disturbing development of products enveloped with nanomaterials. The green synthesis method has prompted the improvement of biomimetic methodologies for the development of advanced nanomaterials. Biological methods for nanoparticles synthesis utilizing plants separate have been recommended as could reasonably be expected eco-friendly different option for chemical and physical methods. Lantana aculeate has many negative impacts including potential to disrupt succession cycle, displacing native biota resulting in decreased biodiversity and noteworthy issue in agricultural areas. This plant can be used for the nanoparticles synthesis in eco-friendly manner and also due to its rapid propagation. The study reports the p...
